| Snaz are an Irish two piece band based in Drogheda featuring Gary Murphy on vocals and lead guitar and Niall Mooney on vocals and rhythm guitar. They use a sequencer for drum and bass parts which are programmed by Gary with an emphasis on a live sound. They have been playing together as a band for over 13 years Gary "Dogs Ears" Murphy has been playing guitar for 29 years having played with rock bands Middle East and Midnight Blue in the 80's. He then went on to cover bands Raincheck, Coverstory, Street life and This way up. He went on to play with the Mary Duff band and toured Europe with Daniel O Donnell. After leaving the Country music scene he met Niall Mooney formed the band Snaz. Gary has worked on TV and radio all over Europe and has played on many studio recordings, He was also a member of the Billy Joel 9 piece tribute band Piano Man. Gary now works in the guitar department in The Sound Shop Drogheda, and appears every monday night in The Market Bar Drogheda for The Monday Night Jam Sessions Niall mooney comes from a musical family his father Noel "Boots" has been singing and playing drums for almost 50 years.Niall began playing guitar and singing at an early age with his dad. He went on to form the band Feedback which were a Beatles cover band . It was at this stage where Gary heard him and Snaz was formed Niall is also the transport manager and maintains the upkeep of the musical equipment .He is also a big hit with the ladies! and a big Manchester United fan. |
